I found some products that might help in guard dog training or just in general handling of your dog. Currently I have not had a chance to review any of these products.

Dogtra Company specializes in the manufacture of dog training collars that are used all over the world to train dogs to respond to instructions. These collars have been effectively used in particular dog training services including police work and anti-barking.

The Dogtra 1900NCP is one of the efficient and solid e-collars used. It is also very user friendly and provides water proof receivers and transmitters. It also offers other features such as:

A Rheostat dial which allows one to increase the stimulation concentration moderately thereby avoiding any jerks in between. The stimulation can be adjusted depending on the dog’s compliance levels and activities.

A field range of one half of a mile allows dog training in hunting and police work to be more efficient when actual situations and experiences are emulated.

The Dogtra 1900NCP Field Star also offers different stimulation types such as a pager vibration, a constant reminder and a nick. The e-collar has more than 999 identity codes making it difficult for the frequencies to match other electronic devices. Controlling several dogs in the same environment is therefore possible.

A two dog model which can control two dogs at the same time from one transmitter is also available. Other features include a rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, LED colored devices that show the battery levels, LCD screens that show visibility in dawn or dusk conditions.

The one major drawback of the company’s products is the cost. However the other similar products in the market that are quite cheap do not offer all these features. The competing manufacturers do not have the same experience level as Dogtra in the market since they have not been in the market long enough.

Dogs with a neck length of less than 28 inches are the best suited to use Dogtra 1900NCP. Most of the dogs that have this neck length include German Shepherds, Setters, Labradors, pointers and spaniels among other large and medium sized dogs.

With the help of the Dogtra 1900NCP, it is quite easy for a dog to move from an obedience challenged dog to a well behaved dog. It is best that a trainer maintains control in the half a mile distance to avoid being punitive towards the dog.

This product is quite different from the others since it does not require an electronic collar. It therefore promotes movement and freedom for the dog. The concept is also very effective. Once an electrical impulse is delivered to correct the dog, the dog has the choice to obey or not.
